Tipperary Age Friendly are delighted to participate in, and promote Positive Ageing Week 2025.

Positive Ageing Week is celebrated from 29th September to 3rd October and the theme for 2025 is ‘The Joy of Ageing’ – celebrating ageing and the contribution and agency of older people.

During Positive Ageing Week the Tipperary Library service will provide a range of events and activities across the library network in Tipperary.

On Thursday 2nd October the HSE and Tipperary Age Friendly will host “Ageing Well in your Community” workshop showcasing HSE services in County Tipperary.  This will take place from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. Booking will be required and all information will be circulated through Tipperary PPN and feature on www.tipperarycoco.ie.

Tipperary Age Friendly would also like to support community engagement during Positive Ageing Week and will support a number of community events across the county providing a small grant of €250 for Older Adult groups to host an event in their community. The event must be free of charge for people to attend and must be promoted outside of their own membership base to encourage wider participation.

To apply for a grant please complete the grant application form on www.tipperarycoco.ie closing date Tuesday 16th September. All successful applicants will be notified by Thursday 18th September.  Tipperary Age Friendly will also promote the variety of events taking place for Positive Ageing Week across media including the HSE event on 2nd October, the events hosted in our local libraries and successful community event applications.
