In 2020, TSP received funding from Sport Ireland to develop a Community Sports Hub in Tipperary Town. The aim of the project is to develop a vibrant and welcoming Community Sports Hub in Tipperary Town connecting the local people with the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre specifically those who are disadvantaged and inactive. It aims to increase participation in physical activity through the provision of education and training programmes, sporting opportunities and building the capacity of the Community Sport Hub. The project also aims to maximise usage of the sports facilities in the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre (Hub Site) through developing and strengthen linkages with local schools, community, sports clubs and other physical activity groups and enhancing the quality and accessibility of the facilities available.

The Sports Hub runs activities such as Tennis, Boccia, Indoor Soccer and other activities with Moorehaven, The Brothers of Charity and The Irish Wheelchair Association.

The Sports Hub supports activities in the Canon Hayes Centre through funding of new equipment for the gym.
