    Intention To Close Castle Street,Roscrea,Co.Tipperary

    NOTICE is hereby given that Tipperary County Council proposes to make an Order closing:

    ROAD TO
    BE CLOSED Castle Street, Roscrea, Co Tipperary.
    PERIOD OF
    CLOSURE: 23:00hrs on Friday 11 September 2026 to 23:00hrs on Saturday 12 September 2026.
    ALTERNATIVE
    ROUTES: Traffic travelling west on R-421, Main St. can divert Via L-3139, Rosemary St and L-3141, The Mall. Traffic travelling east on R-421, Main Street can divert via the N62 and L-3142, Church St. Traffic travelling north onto Castle St will be diverted via L-3142, Church street, N62 and R-421, Main St.

    REASON FOR CLOSURE: To facilitate Roscrea Music Festival

    Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Road Closures, Roads & Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary not later than 12 noon on Thursday 13 August 2026 or by e-mail to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie

    Convent Hill Traffic Calming and Pedestrian Crossings, Parkmore, Roscrea.

    The proposed development includes the following key components:
    • 5 number Pedestrian Zebra Crossing (Type C): The project comprises the construction of five raised pedestrian crossing points on each approach road to the roundabout.
    • Drainage & Signage: The project will also include the installation of associated traffic signage, road markings, and drainage improvements necessary to support the operation of the scheme.
    • Accessibility: Existing dropped kerbs will be raised and upgraded where required to improve pedestrian crossing facilities and ensure compliance with current accessibility standards

    Major public artwork celebrating Gaelic games unveiled at FBD Semple Stadium in Thurles

    A major public artwork, commissioned by Tipperary County Council, in partnership with Tipperary GAA and FBD Semple Stadium, celebrating the legacy of Gaelic games was unveiled today at FBD Semple Stadium in Thurles, Co. Tipperary. The bronze statue, entitled ‘Ár gCluichí Féin’ (Our Own Games), by artist Aidan Harte, was created to recognise the cultural importance of Gaelic games and to commemorate Tipperary as the birthplace of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
